Monthly review

Have I read Other books in the same genre? How does this one compare?

I have currently been comparing the two books by Brian Greene-The Elegant Universe and the Fabric of the cosmos. And honestly they are about the same although I very much prefer the Elegant Universe due to its Awesome Cover. But other than that it covers almost the same thing mostly about physics. My favorite theory that he talks about in the book is probably the String Theory. I can't really explain string theory in my own words because its very hard and ifi explain it you will get confused so i got the definition from Wikipedia. is a developing theory in particle physics which attempts to reconcile quantum mechanics and general relativity. String theory posits that the electrons and quarks within an atom are not 0-dimensional objects, but rather 1-dimensional oscillating lines, possessing only the dimension of length, but not height or width. The theory posits that these strings can vibrate, thus giving the observed particles their flavor, charge, mass and spin.

If you want my definition then here it goes- String theory is basically the mechanics for particle physics and quantum gravity. But why do they call it the string theory? Well, it involves vibrating strings. If your confused, i understand. If you don't know what quantum gravity is, its the unification of quantum physics and the general theory. Oh no, i think i got you more confused...anyway i should stop.

Quote- " String Theory has the potential to show that all the wondrous happening in the universe-from the frantic dance of a subatomic quarks to the stately waltz of orbiting binary stars, from the primordial fireball of the big bang to the majestic swirl of the heavenly galaxies-are reflections of one grand physical principle one master equation."

This quote is great because it means that the String Theory has the possibility of explaining the wonders of the world and everything that has happened.

How does this one compare?

This book is something that i truly love. It features information from Stephen Hawking in his book. My favorite part of the book is probably the one about time travel through a wormhole. My favorite quote was probably this one. This was quoted by Hawking as well

"If time travel is possible, haven't we been inundated with visitors from the future?" p 468.

this is a good point. It made me wonder for days. Before i sleep i would think about it. Is it really possible? But honestly i don't think anything is impossible. Its just a bit unlikely. But anyway, time travel through wormhole is something i think is possible. Maybe opening a wormhole would be something like opening another dimension. In the book Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking, he said that a dimension is a millionth millionth millionth of an inch. Maybe its the same for a wormhole, and that we need to find enough energy to pry it open.In my last blog about the Brief history of time, i had a hypothesis in which i came up with. It was that after a supernova, maybe a black hole is formed due to a rupture in opening another dimension. A supernova, as i know it, is probably the most powerful blast in the universe other than the big bang or the big crunch. Since there is so much energy it probably opened a dimension or a wormhole causing a black hole to start. Thus if we go through it, we can travel into a random part in time and space.

This book has also inspired me just as much as the other books i have read.

Last time i said that this really brings up a great question but then after a few days of thinking about it, i came up with the conclusion of why i found time traveling so interesting to me. It was because of Doctor Who. Doctor Who is a show about a time traveler who doesn't die but regenerates. He gives me hope in which in the near future there will be aliens and other unlikely things to happen. I say unlikely because nothings impossible, its just a little bit unlikely.

Now about how Brian Greene writes. Its actually quite entertaining. Almost every new chapter, he introduces something new to the reader which keeps my interest inside the book at all times. I mean i'm the kind of person who dosen't really like story books because to me its just a waste of time, and that it doesn't really help me in any way that i want it to help me. Well, anyway, The book is informative meaning it helps me expand my knowledge more than a normal novel would. A novel would just teach me about a lesson in some cheesy thing but books like these help me expand more knowledge about our world. I mean you can learn those kind of cheesy lessons in a poem.

On the first 4 days i checked out this book i finished it because my mind was blown away at all the facts inside the book. I mean traveling through wormholes and information about black holes, that's my kind of thing. This makes me want to be an astrologist after college. Or an astronomer because astrologist don't make too much money and i want money. Also astronomers get famous, if you get to a planet or when take a shuttle, everyone in the world watches. Its like watching your race write their names into the stars.

What i want to propose to you all is to send a probe into a black hole. That would be something in which a lot of people would like to see. I mean think about the discoveries that can be made, think what the human race could achieve...all the possibilities. If not now then when? I want to see this happen in my life time. Who knows? I might be the one to achieve it, or maybe you, my anonymous reader.

Another thing that could probably help our world would be to explore more about Earth. Ever since I was a little kid, I loved to explore. I loved adventures and my favorite of all was nature. My favorite TV show was and still is Doctor Who, I don't know why but it had all that I wanted it had a sense of adventure and alien planets and time travel in it. It portrayed many aliens with their unique weaknesses and advantages. The character The Doctor just inspired to do well in science, history and much more. It made me want to be an astronaut who explores different planets and meet aliens. But what I was missing was that we still needed to know about Earth and all of its beauty. In a TED talk by James Cameron, he said that we already have an alien planet right here on Earth. He's right, although we do have an planet with unique plants and animals on it. I've only started to really think about this but, Are we aliens?

Anyway, James Cameron said a good way to explore the world is to scuba dive. I've scuba dived before and I have to say it is really fun. Its like floating in an alien world with many unknown things that I would like to explore. Almost like a live adventure. There are many unique creatures with their own unique qualities and plants that I couldn't even describe.

The most beautiful things in reality that I know of and have seen through a telescope is a nebula. Nebulae are just gorgeous, they come in different colors and their figure is just random. A nebulae is the aftermath of an exploded star, the explosion is what creates the design of a nebula, its like getting a bucket of paint and splashing it at a wall, the design is random. You should search it up on Google images.

QuickWrite

I think that the rules of love come from our parents and the media. My parents told " Don't touch a girl until you are 18 or else she will get pregnant and i would have to kill you." I actually thought that he would say "You dishona our family" My dad's motto was If I kill one Ill just make another one then i would tell the new one how stupid the old one was.

I've never been in a serious relationship before so i don't really know what influences the behaviors but it definitely has something to do with hormones and science.

What are things nice girls do? Well I actually don't know...Well What do Not Nice girls do? They don't threaten to cut your dick off, they don't hurt you, and they definitely don't make you a sandwich and then trick you and they eat the sandwich. I don't know why i am writing in such bad handwriting right now, usually i like to write in good handwriting but im am so bored. I want to listen to French rap.

French rap is alot better than American. Although i dont understand everything it still is very funny. Well anyway i hope i can read my quickwrite later because i have to type it.

Nice girls dont ...Oh thank god the 3 min mark...wait crap I just lost my train of thought..O ya nice girls make good sandwiches. They dont make everything feel awkward or put me in an awkward position or ask awkward questions. I want to use awkward more often in my sentences this may sound very redundant. Here it goes... I have to find an awkward sentence that has alot of awkward words and is very awkward because it has awkward words in it. 0000000 1 min mark just write and draw cubes...

(then a bunch of cube drawings)

unification of the world part 3

What can we do to meet some of these needs?

*

We should have a place where all of the smartest people around the world would come and focus on achieving a certain goal with all expenses paid. A certain goal would be something like finding a cure for AIDS or having a spaceship that can run at the speed of light.

*

To combat poverty we should have some sort of labor for the homeless in which they can slowly earn back money to start a new life. You know what they say “everyone deserves a second chance no matter what they did.

*

This one may sound a little too crazy, but we should have a vernacular. We need to have one language that everyone can speak.( what good is having a room with all the smartest people around the world in it if they can't understand each other?)

*

To earn acceptance is something the world needs to do together. I have yet thought of a way to combat this... I think one way to start bringing in more acceptance to the world would be to get rid of all the stereotypes the media has portrayed to the public.

Another thing that could probably help our world would be to explore more about Earth. Ever since I was a little kid, I loved to explore. I loved adventures and my favorite of all was nature. Unification of world part 2

Even further into history, now its the mid-1900s and there it is WW2 between Germany and the other European countries and the US. The reason for this war? It has to do with nationalism ( nationalism is basically “pride” to ones country) Germany was mad because all the other nations weakened its government and basically humiliated the Germans. This motivated Hitler to come to the decision to statrt a war to show the othernations that the Germans were stronger than all the other nations combined. He also tried to exterminate the Jewish people for having different beliefs (I also will not go into too much depth with that.) In the psycology book it stated that motivation, in general term for the process of starting, directing, and maintaining physical and phsycological activities. It is a broad concept that embraces all the internal mechanisms involved in: preferences for one activity over another, vigor of responses and persistence of organized patterns of actions toward a relevant goal. Basically Hitler had a bad responce from the other Europeans like a child being humiliated by his peers, which made his goal to show others what he is capable of doing. Or should I say what Germany is capable of doing.

The last example that I would like to introduce is racism. We have all seen what it can do, and worst of all it is still present today. One of the reasons why is because the lines created on the map makes seems to be the reason that makes us all different, but in reality we all have the same number of legs, same number of arms, mouth, eyes. (depending if you have a birth defect or something that makes you “unique”) Thats only one of the reasons. The other reason is the media. The media, as I quote from the book “Free Culture by Lawrence Lessig “ How Big media uses technology and the law to lockdown culture and control creativity.” Where do sterotypes come from? The media. Not only today, but back in the old days the media portrayed other races poorly. (not to sound racist) but have you ever seen the slave trade posters? That is being steriotypical. In present day there are still stereotypes. If we all join together and think of ourselves as earthlings and not as Asians, or as African- Americans, things would be so much better.

My view of a unified world would have to be that we all work together to explore and engrave our names in the stars and that there would be no racism, or wars. It would also be helpful if we had a vernacular or a mother language, that way we wouldn't have problems communicating with each other. I think that also applies to racism, mabey since we speak a different language it makes us feel like we are different than others who speak other languages.

Basically a unified world is a world in which we have overcome all the human needs: hunger, sickness, poverty, expansion, freedom and the one needed most, acceptance. Acceptance for who we are, and not what we look like or what language we speak. Feeling a sense of fairness and balance in interacting with others. Having a good relationship with others. You've probably seen today's world... the world needs to have more of these needs.
